Athletics, along with swimming, is one of the oldest sports in the world and is often called ‘the mother of all sports’ because it includes the basic human movements (running, jumping, and throwing). In athletics, athletes compete individually or in groups (relay) and it can be practiced both on the road and on the track.
At Atletiekvereniging SPRINT, BRESS members can participate in all athletics events. You can choose to pursue all-round athletics or, with sufficient talent and in consultation with the coach, specialize in a specific branch of athletics.

Bouldering is a spectacular form of climbing that originated from climbing boulders. Unlike climbing, bouldering does not require ropes or harnesses. Thick crash mats under the routes ensure safety. The climbing walls in the bouldering gym reach a maximum height of 4.5 meters and range from slightly overhanging to steeply inclined. It is a sport suitable for almost everyone and can be practiced individually or in groups. The mix of different walls and boulders allows both beginners and advanced climbers to boulder alongside each other.
Bouldering can be practiced at Boulderhal Bruut. Weekly updates to the circuit (±20 boulders) combined with a wide variety of holds ensure that the routes, or boulders, are never the same!
Bouldering trains your entire body and always offers a challenge. Whatever you’re looking for, Boulderhal Bruut is always a fun place!

Zouk means ‘party’ in French Creole and is a music genre from the French Antilles. The dance Zouk is just as lively as the music and emerged in the 1960s on the Caribbean islands. It also became popular in Brazil, where it is known as Kizomba. The dance allows for a lot of variation and creativity, and with its toom-chic-chic (slow-quick-quick) tempo, it is very elegant. The men lead and determine the sequence of moves, while the women make head movements, causing their hair to swing through the air.
